Construction Truck Birthday Party

Construction Truck Birthday Party 0

"Biiiiiiig truck!" My son started saying this at 17 months old, and at 3 years old, he's still obsessed. And I do mean obsessed. Whenever we hear the garbage truck coming down the street, we have to run out to watch it. If there is construction happening on the side of the road, we have to make at least a couple of passes so he can get a good look at the bulldozers and "hextavators" (excavators). If he hears a siren in the distance, I swear he can identify what type of emergency vehicle it's coming from. His fascination with Elmo and Thomas the Train came and went, but the truck love has not faded in the slightest. So, when it was time to plan the theme for his third birthday, we went all trucks; specifically, construction trucks as those make his little heart race the most.

Construction Birthday Party DecorationsI think I was most excited about the cupcake toppers. I loved the idea of having little bulldozers scooping up chocolate frosting on top of his birthday cupcakes, and he was equally thrilled when he saw them. We hung onto the truck centerpieces long after the part was over and he "drove" them around until they were too worn out to use anymore. The yellow and black colors of the banners and signs really popped and made our kitchen look like a real construction site. We used this gray table cloth to mimic the look of a paved road.

In keeping with the bright yellow color of the trucks, we used these yellow plastic cups and these knives, forks and spoons for the cake and snacks. The bright yellow cutlery looked great against these black napkins. The tiny truck confetti thrilled all the kiddos who picked it up and re-scattered it around the table over and over.

If you have a truck loving kiddo like I do, this Construction Truck themed party will be one they will remember for years to come. We want to make it easy for you throw the perfect party, so you can just enjoy the birthday boy or girl's big day.
