Gift Guide for a Truck Lover 0
A few months ago, we blogged about hosting a truck themed party for my three year old son who is obsessed with all things on wheels. Now we are in the middle of a major spring cleaning to get ready for his baby sister's arrival, and also because I was going nuts with all the stuff in my house! As I was sorting through piles of clothes, nick nacks, and mostly toys, I realized that he really only plays with a few select trucks, and the rest are just clutter that I stub my toes on as I walk through the house. With that in mind, I thought I'd let our readers know which truck toys get the most playtime in case you have a truck lover in your house with a birthday coming up.
1. "A Fire Truck Named Red" Okay, so this is not a toy, it's a book, but it happens to be the most adorable book about trucks ever and I'm still not tired of reading it!
2. Rubble's Digg'n Bulldozer If you have a kid that loves trucks AND Paw Patrol, this is the perfect toy! Bonus: it doesn't make any sounds!
3. Long Carrier Truck Transporter My son has approximately 8,463 Matchbox cars that he loves dearly and can't part with, so we need storage and this is perfect! It doubles as a big truck to roll around and a handy storage container to keep things organized.
4. Melissa & Doug Garbage Truck Like a siren song, the sound of the garbage truck coming down our street calls to my son and we have to run out to see it. This toy garbage truck is adorable and comes with the added bonus of not being made of plastic.
5. Tonka Steel Tow Truck We love this truck because the tow hook can grab onto just about any other car or truck my son plays with, so it gets lots of use and is very durable.
6. Big Dig Ride-On Working Crane If you have a sand box, I highly recommend this crane "truck". My son could play on it for hours and the mega bonus is that it wears him completely out. It's basically like lifting weights while playing.
7. Rainbow Kids Dump Truck Summer Set Going to the beach? That doesn't mean you get to leave the trucks at home, right? Afterall, what's going to haul all that sand around for building castles?
8. Remote Control Bucket Loader Yes this requires batteries, but it's so fun for my son to use the remote and not have to crawl around pushing it on the floor. The bonus-the remote is wired to the truck, so it can never get too far away from my son and go barreling down the stairs resulting in tears and tantrums!
9. Tonka Trucks Backpack My son doesn't need a backpack for school yet, but this backpack is great for loading up his favorite trucks for road trips or to go stay at "Gwamma's" house.
10. "Downtown" Felt Playmat With all those trucks and cars around, your little one will need a place to let them roam, and this playmat makes a great city scape for driving adventures
Happy shopping, everyone! And of course, if you need any truck themed party decorations, be sure to visit us here!

Flashback Birthday: Parties Then and Now 0
I'm doing some Spring cleaning and trying to make room for baby number 2, and I came across some pictures from one of my birthday parties when I was a kid; I'm guessing I was turning 11, or so. I can't help but laugh considering I create themed parties for a living now, and there was no discernable theme, other than crimped hair and big bows on me and my guests! I remember that at this slumber party we made biscuit dough pizzas, we played pass the potato using only our chins, and that my dad came out of his room in his tighty whities at 3:00am to tell us to quiet down, but no party theme to speak of. I'm guessing we just giggled and talked about boys until passed out. Don't get me wrong, I don't judge my mom; she had four of us and access to custom party decorations was slim to none in my tiny hometown. She did make a hell of a cake, though!
What I love about a themed party, besides it being super cute, is that it serves as sort of a bookmark for what my son loved at each age. At 1, he loved his pirate bath toys, so we threw a pirate themed party and it was so cute! We have some awesome pirate themed decorations for your little matey, too: banners, cupcake toppers, pirate hats & eye patches, and anything else you might need! For birthday number 2, he cared only about trains, so a train party it was. You have a choo choo lover? We have you covered! How cute is this train station banner and these centerpieces?! For the big number 3, it had to be big trucks! My favorite of all the truck decorations were the cupcake toppers that looked like they were scooping up the chocolate frosting. Who knows what he'll love when he turns 4, or what his baby sister will love when she arrives? But, whatever it is, they will each have a themed party to remember, and I'll have the pictures of what they loved to treasure forever. Afterall, my memory isn't getting better as I get older!
We have the decor covered, but you'll still need plates, forks, cups, table cloths, and napkins. Go big on the decorations, and leave the rest simple!

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream! 0
Summer is fast approaching and, here in Austin, the summer weather will be here before we know it and that has me thinking about...ice cream! My favorite snow cone stand just opened for the season, my son and I are enjoying popsicles in the yard, and while you don't really need a special occasion to have an ice cream cone, a birthday party sure is a fun time to indulge. That's why I'm sharing our colorful and fun ice cream party decorations, so those of you with kiddos who have summer birthdays can start planning a deliciously darling party with our custom party supplies!
When I was a kid, my favorite thing to play was "restaurant". I'd make tons of treats out of Play Doh and "sell" them to my family. That's why our hanging ice cream cone decoration is my favorite item out of the set, because it doubles as a playtime toy when the party is over. Use them as part of a photo booth backdrop or prop, or hang them from a light fixture over the food or gift table, and then let your kiddos "sell" them from their ice cream shop after the guests go home. Another product that serves a double scoop of fun as a party decoration and a playroom decoration after the party is our colorful popsicle garland.
If you're planning an ice cream themed 1st birthday party, we offer a great way to show off your sweet baby's journey to their big day with our "Sweeter by the Month" photo banner. This is perfect for display at the party, and as part of a smash cake or first birthday photo shoot. Each square on the banner perfectly frames a photo of your baby at each month from birth to the big 1.
Looking for festive ways to serve up sundaes and other delicious ice cream treats at the party? These cute cups match our decor perfectly and look like they're covered in sprinkles! Keep the ice cream drips off your table with this adorable ice cream cone table cloth. Delight the little sugar monsters at your party by making ice cream cone shaped popsicles for the whole crew with these molds.
Serve up a big scoop of fun at your next party and let us help you make it easy and sweet with all of our ice cream and popsicle themed party decorations!

With the summer wedding season fast approaching, we are seeing tons of orders come in for spring time wedding shower and bachelorette party decorations. We have personalized banners to honor the Miss who's becoming a Mrs, cute confetti with the soon-to-be-newlywed's names, and a "Bride to Be" chair banner to give the queen a proper place to sit at her bridal shower, and much more. You didn't think we would forget the cupcakes, did you? While we don't offer a way to serve your party food and cupcakes, you can find elegant disposable plates, forks, and champagne flutes and have them shipped right to your door. They're perfect for your shower, or for the big day.
Since we had all the pre-wedding party decorations covered, we wondered if there was anything else we could do to make wedding planning easier for the bride. We use a paper cutter for almost all of our party decor, and discovered we could use it as a calligraphy tool as well, and offer beautifully scripted custom addressing for wedding invitations. Specifically, we can offer a unique looking style of metallic ink on dark envelopes; something that is difficult to do at home. Check out a behind the scenes look at how we do it here.
We would love to help you with your bridal and bachelorette parties, and even help you get those wedding invitations out the door in a beautiful and timely fashion, so please let us know how we can help! The bride should be able to relax and just enjoy her time in the spotlight, and we can help that happen!

Envelope Addressing - New Service Announced! 0
Last week we announced a new service for you, our lovely customers, and it is envelope addressing! We specialize in metallic ink on dark envelopes, and are so excited to be helping you out with yet another custom party planning service. We have a small suspicion that we'll mostly be working with brides and wedding planners on wedding invitation addressing, but are excited to talk to other individuals, non-profits, corporations, and party planners to help with all your invitation and greeting card addressing needs.
Each envelope is run through our die cutting machine, but instead of having a small blade loaded in the machine to cut paper, we load in a pen which writes on the envelope with a metallic pen. The machine creates very precise writing, while still providing the personal touch of real ink, which is always nice when receiving an invitation in the mail!
You can actually see how it is done in this video.
We'd love to help you out with any envelope addressing needs. We have a few designs currently available, but we can work with you to create a custom design, or we can also work with your custom invitation designer to tie the invitation and address design together!
You can see our current designs here, or contact us for more details on a custom design.
